‘In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage,”  Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla said in a joint statement two weeks after Rebel revealed he was the ‘a**hole’ in her memoir.

Two weeks after Rebel Wilson disclosed in her memoir, Rebel Rising, that she discusses Sacha Baron Cohen the comedian and his wife isle fisher announced their separation. In a statement released on Friday April 5, the estranged couple disclosed that they had parted ways last year.

In a joint statement shared on Instagram Stories, Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla likened their long-term relationship to a tennis match spanning over two decades and expressed their decision to bring it to an end. They stated In 2023 we jointly filed for the dissolution of our marriage. Throughout this process we have maintained our commitment to privacy quietly navigating this transition. Our enduring love and dedication to our children remain unchanged. We kindly request respect for our family’s desire for privacy.

The announcement follows closely on the heels of Rebel Wilson, aged 44 unveiling in her memoir that Sacha Baron Cohen is the individual referenced as the “a**hole” alleging his involvement in inappropriate conduct during the filming of their movie, “Grimsby.”

I mentioned an individual in my book who I found to be unpleasant. Now that person is attempting to intimidate me stated the Pitch Perfect actress in a now-deleted Instagram video. He has enlisted the help of a crisis PR manager and lawyers to prevent the release of information about my book. However, the book will be published and the truth will be revealed to all.

In her recently released book which hit the shelves on Tuesday April 2, Rebel recounted her alleged encounters while working with the star of “The Trial of the Chicago 7” on the set of their comedy film “Grimsby.”

I felt like every time I spoke with SBC he would bring up the idea of me doing a nude scene in a future film, Rebel claimed in one excerpt from her memoir. “I responded, ‘Ha, I don’t do nudity, Sacha.'”

Following that she went into specifics about a purported conversation between herself and Sacha alleging that he urged her to participate in a sexual scene for the film which she had not consented to.

Rebel Wilson’s recent allegation against Sacha Baron Cohen (SBC) regarding an incident during the filming of an additional scene has sparked controversy. Wilson claimed that during the filming, SBC unexpectedly exposed himself and asked her to engage in a sexually explicit act, which she vehemently refused.

However an anonymous producer from the movie has challenged Wilson’s claims asserting that she had been aware of and had approved the scene beforehand. The producer clarified that the scripted scene involved Wilson’s character attempting to perform the act on SBC’s character rather than SBC directly requesting it. They emphasized that Wilson was treated with respect and empowerment throughout the filming process contradicting Wilson’s account.

The conflicting narratives raise questions about consent professionalism and the dynamics on set. Wilson’s allegation suggests an abuse of power and inappropriate behaviour while the producer’s statement portrays a collaborative and respectful working environment.

Meanwhile it’s notable that Sacha Baron Cohen and his wife, actress Isla Fisher have been married since 2010. The couple’s relationship dates back to 2001 when they first met and they got engaged in 2004. Together they have three children indicating a stable and long-lasting partnership amidst the demands of their respective careers.

As this controversy unfolds it underscores the importance of transparency respect and clear boundaries in the entertainment industry. It also highlights the complexities of navigating allegations within the context of creative collaboration and professional relationships.
